An unruly island


The murder of Daphne Galizia has called the island’s reputation into question and triggered monitoring by international authorities.

The assassination of blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia on October 16, 2017 justifiably echoed around the world. For the small island nation of Malta, it resonated in a deeply personal way, one which requires a much more dispassionate analysis than is perhaps possible so soon after the murder.
