RIGHT TO BE FORGOTTEN Did you wish you’d never posted that picture of yourself drunk on Facebook, the one that was later shared hundreds of times by your friends?

Did you want to remove an article in a local newspaper mentioning that you used to smoke when you were a teenager? Thanks to a ruling by the European Court of Justice, it should now be possible. Europe’s high court in Luxembourg says that Google – and other US internet giants – will be obliged to remove links to any citizen’s sensitive personal information when requested to do so. The decision is set to bolster the socalled “right to be forgotten” that privacy advocates have been championing ever since the Google and Facebook became so widespread.
