Following Germany, Austria, Norway and France, Sweden and Denmark have now also resumed border controls. On 3 January, Stockholm introduced passport checks for people from Denmark, ostensibly in order to limit the uncontrolled influx of refugees. At the same time, Denmark reinforced border checks along its German border.
