Anumber of reasons are currently being discussed in Cairo to explain the Egyptian army’s decision to unseat the elected civilian government of Islamic President Mohammed Morsi. Those reasons range from personality differences between Morsi and the Minister of Defence, General Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, to more sinister conspiratorial theories involving Saudi Arabia and the Gulf monarchies.
