Europe has to be taken philosophically
Work on the European Constitution provides a formidable benchmark “in the search for Europe”. It has once more confronted an undecided Europe with the need to define and measure itself against its history and values. But if Europe is unable to tolerate conflicting values and accepts the dogma that these values must be reduced to a single One, it will eliminate all expression of freedom, thereby decreeing its disappearance once and for all.
