Glucksmann’s Rage Toward Russia

French philosopher André Glucksmann has been a mainstay on the European cultural scene for more than forty years. His latest book is a spiritual reflection on the importance of dissidence. It also recognizes evil and the need to fight it. Glucksmann is convinced that human rights are once again under siege, particularly in the wake of atrocities in Chechnya. In that regard, he’s lost his patience with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, whom he accuses of pandering to Russia.
