South Africa Will Put An ‘S’ Into BRIC
China has officially opened the door to South Africa to join the world’s developmental big four, which already numbers China, India, Brazil and Russia. Part of Beijing’s choice seems determined by a desire to expend both its economic and political influence in Africa. At the same time, bringing South Africa in leaves other new powerhouses, including South Korea, without a platform. Maybe the time has come to widen or rethink the economic bloc system.
