The presence of doctored or tainted food is becoming an increasingly serious problem in China. Most of it comes from the inability to trace products back to their source, creating a roadblock both for authorities and multinationals.
As a former spitting competition champion, I used to spit a great deal. And most Chinese still do. But as China extends its global influence both politically and economically, selfawareness about habits not everyone finds endearing takes hold and grows.
