Between Conflicting Passions: Waiting for the New Pushkin

The writers who came to the forefront after the fall of the USSR shared a common feeling of defeat. This is perhaps why they barred the way to those who rejected their authority. The new writers seek a normal literature, not necessarily meant as a replacement for other, more technical or more political, expressive forms.
