Awide-brimmed straw hat protects her from the sun that has been beating down relentlessly on the city for the last few weeks. She is sitting on a small stool, facing the shop windows of the China Mobile sales outlet, her gaze lost in space. She is holding a folder in her hands covered in an infinite series of eleven-digit numbers. The same scene is mirrored further along the pavement: someone catches a quick bite to eat, others take advantage of a moment’s respite to take a nap.
