In the 1920s, green Lucky Strike packets clashed with American women’s clothing so the American Tobacco Company recruited Edward Luis Bernays to organise a campaign aimed at changing the public’s perception of the colour. Through runways and fashion events, green duly became the colour of the year, sparking a significant increase in Lucky Strike sales. This is just one example of Bernays’ many masterful propaganda feats.
