I spent the run-up to the referendum trying to predict the consequences of a possible Brexit vote and sub- sequent leaving of the EU by the UK. A few things were, and remain, certain: Britain will become weaker, poorer and lose international influ- ence. But seven months after the British people decided by a small margin to leave the European Union, predicting the exact consequences of Brexit remains difficult.
