Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been around for a while. The term was first coined in 1956 as a label for a branch of science and technology that aimed to create machines capable of solving problems that required some form of human intelligence. Over time, AI has been applied to many areas of our personal and professional lives, from healthcare to finance, from education to manufacturing, from energy generation and consumption to spam filters and web searches. AI is now routinely employed in our smartphones, cameras, browsers, online content search systems, credit card transactions and digital personal assistants such as Siri and Alexa.
