The German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen has taken in more refugees than the whole of France
TRUE – One of the hotly debated issues at present is a fairer distribution of the burden of accepting hundreds of thousands of asylum applicants within the EU. According to Hannelore Kraft, governor of Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW), there is something wrong in Europe if NRW welcomes more refugees than the whole of France. The numbers prove her right, if only by a whisker: during the first six months of 2015, Kraft’s state took in 29,675 refugees while France accepted 29,450 refugees.
