A new method gauges changing national moods through social networks.
On the eve of the European Parliament elections on May 24-25, one could already sense a clash of opposing viewpoints among EU citizens over election-related issues. Between April 1 and April 30, websites in twelve countries racked up nearly 1.4m mentions related to Europe-wide concerns – an increase of 13.3% over the month of March, easily explained by the upcoming elections.
