Food in the Guinness Book of Records


We have previously discussed on our website about some very weird food, but a whole chapter needs to be completely dedicated to foods that have become part of the Guinness Book of Records. There are indeed a lot of weird records about foods into this book of oddities and here we're going to find out a few.

The world’s largest shrimp cocktail was prepared in Mexico in 2011 with: 488kg of peeled shrimps, mixed in a sauce made of 57 kg of ketchup, 10 kg of lemon juice, 5.6 kg of “Salsa Brava”, 4.025 kg Worcestershire sauce, 3 kg of salt, 1.014 kg of tabasco, and 30 g of pepper, for 538.5 kg total of weight, then served in a cocktail glass of 1.91 m height.
