We support “1000 food gardens in Africa”

EAST has adopted a food garden in Africa and thus become a supporter of the initiative that goes by the name “1000 Food Gardens in Africa”, set up thanks to the efforts of the Terra Madre Foundation, which operates within the fold of the Slow Food Association.

The initiative has been set up to preserve, encourage and promote sustainable food production methods, in keeping with local tradition, culture and landscape.

The food garden measures 5 hectares and has been called East Magazine: it is farmed according to traditional methods and run by about run 30 people, all locals.

The Food Garden represents a link between past and present, and a way of making traditions of the past available to the present.
