PART TWO: Former Libyan terrorist Noman Benotman explains how jihadi management operates: keeping a foot in the different war zones, having the right contacts and looking after backers’ interests. 

Noman Benotman was a jihadi militant and the former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, a Libyan terrorist organisation which operated between the 1980s and ’90s and gave Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s regime a hard time. As an exile in the UK, Benotman began to move away from armed combat. Via the former Libyan regime, he has since contributed to setting up a programme that facilitates a process of de-radicalisation, mainly targeted at his former comrades.
