Santos almost makes peace

The referendum surprisingly rejected the agreement with FARC, but Oslo, with its Nobel Peace prize, is encouraging Santos to extend negotiations.

No queremos que haya una víctima más en Colombia (“We don’t want there to be any more casualties in Colombia”). Browsing the 297 pages of the agreement that was supposed to be signed by the Colombian government and FARC, we came across this single sentence which could have been enough to bridge the gap between happiness and controversy, bringing an end to an historical conflict.
