An excess of law graduates
One of the most prestigious professions in the United States has been experiencing a crisis over the past several years. According to the most recent data from the American Bar Association (ABA), only 60% of law graduates from the class of 2014 have found full-time jobs that required them to pass the bar exam. Even though this is greater than the 57% of full-time-employed law graduates recorded in 2013, the increase is apparently distorted by the inclusion of positions funded by law schools themselves. The situation is even bleaker when one factors in the dizzying levels of student debt: law school loans total an average of $127,000 for private universities and $88,000 for public schools.
