Too few British bankers
Announcing his proposed College of Commissioners, Jean-Claude Juncker, said he hoped that with Jonathan Hill as Commissioner for Financial Services: “Perhaps our UK friends will better understand Commission policies if explained in the language of Shakespeare.”
But the British Banking Association fears more may be needed and says that to wield influence Britain must have a sufficient number of its nationals in positions of power within the European Commission.
