For now we are at the huffing and puffing stage of muscular diplomacy. Whatever bloodthirsty editorial writers say, war for the distant resources of the North Pole is no immediate risk. Still, mythological propaganda is beginning to abound. The usually pacific Canadian Government has let it be know that its military laboratories are working on ‘stealth’ snowmobiles designed to silently whisk troops over the ice cap on secret combat missions – should the need for these arise, of course.
